The US authorities are not currently discussing the issue of providing military assistance to Ukraine, except for what was planned during the administration of the previous President of the United States Joe Biden. This was reported on April 18 by The New York Times (NYT).

"There are actually no serious discussions in the White House or on Capitol Hill about the next package of weapons for Ukraine, as the current support that was promoted in the last months of the Biden administration is running out of steam," congressional sources told the publication.

The NYT also points out that European countries have not received guarantees from American officials that the United States will continue to exchange extensive intelligence data with Ukraine.

In February, Germany provided Ukraine with a military assistance package that included 56 MRAP armored vehicles, an IRIS-T SLM medium-range missile, an IRIS-T SLS short-range missile, and 300 HF-1 attack drones.

At the same time, on April 16, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that the country's authorities would not make any donations to Ukraine in terms of military assistance, and that Slovakia did not intend to participate in financial mechanisms for the purchase of weapons for Ukraine.
