At least 1.5 million believers are expected to attend services in Moscow on the night of April 19-20. This was announced on Saturday, April 19, by the head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the capital, Vitaly Suchkov.
"Since Easter is celebrated not only by Orthodox Christians these days, we expect over 1.5 million believers at the divine services. More than 540 Orthodox churches will be opened in the capital, taking into account other faiths, their number exceeds 580," he told TASS.
As for the operation of public transport, the metro and the MCC will be open for entry until 02:00 at night, and some ground modes of metropolitan transport will transport passengers until 03:30.
