- Politico reported on the plans of the chief of staff of the Pentagon chief to leave his post

Joe Kasper, the chief of staff to the chief of the US Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, plans to leave his post soon and move to a new position. This was reported by the Politico newspaper on April 18.
"Joe Kasper, chief of staff to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, will leave his post in the coming days and move to a new position at the agency," a senior official told the publication.
It is clarified that earlier this week, three employees of the defense department, including Hegseth's deputy chief of Staff, Senior Adviser Dan Caldwell, were fired in connection with the ongoing investigation into leaks of classified information.
The scandalous publication of The Atlantic magazine discussing attacks on the Houthis by the US administration became known on March 25. Jeffrey Goldberg, the magazine's editor-in-chief, said that on March 11, he received a request to connect to Signal from a user named Mike Waltz. Two days later, Goldberg received a notification about being added to a group chat called "Houthis small group."
Then, on March 15, a user named Pete Hegseth posted a message that contained details of the upcoming strikes against the Houthis. According to the screenshots, Hegseth sent information about the departure of American F-18 fighter jets 31 minutes before the start of the mission.
