On April 17, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov recalled that the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as the Kherson and Zaporizhia regions, are an integral part of the Russian Federation.
The next day, Andrei Klimov, deputy representative of the Federation Council Committee on International Affairs, told Izvestia that Stephen Witkoff, the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, who did not recognize all new territories of the Russian Federation, could be commented on with the phrase "bargaining is inappropriate here."
