Subaru has developed a U-shaped airbag for cyclists

The Subaru automotive company has developed a U-shaped airbag in case of a collision between a car and a cyclist. This was reported on March 18 by The Drive portal.
"Although pedestrian airbags have been around for over 10 years, Subaru claims that its bicycle airbag is the first in the world. In fact, it was originally a pedestrian airbag, but the company increased the surface area to cover both front pillars," the article says.
At the same time, it is clarified that the new product was announced only for the Subaru Forester model produced for the Japanese market. It is currently unknown whether the new airbag will be available on vehicles for other regions.
On April 15, production of Lada Vesta cars in the manual version began at the Tolyatti plant. Certified equipment duplicates the functions of the gas and brake pedals, allowing people with impaired function of one or both legs to operate the car.
On March 20, it became known that Sollers intends to launch a new SUV in early 2026. It is planned to invest more than 4 billion rubles in the launch of the project.
