Pobeda the dog became the gold medalist of the Shaggy Oscar award

The international award "Shaggy Oscar 2024" was awarded to a mongrel named Victory, who led the fighters through minefields. This was announced on Friday, April 18, on the website of the project "My affectionate and necessary animal".
"The winners of the season are the shaggy-haired warrior Pobeda (Samara), who led the fighters in the SVO zone through minefields, as well as the three-legged canister therapist Rona (Kaliningrad), who helps special children learn to read," the statement said.
The mascot of the Moscow firefighters, Tolik the cat from the Semenichi detachment, who previously received the rank of ensign of the internal service, became the bronze medalist. Unfortunately, the ensign was unable to attend the award ceremony. His partner said that "Tolik is very afraid of flying."
The prize "For the benefit of others" by the decision of the arbitrators went to the fearless beagles Rocky and Red (Tyumen region), who did not abandon their little owners in trouble.
Special prizes were awarded to the shepherd dog Irbis (Kamchatka). The dog saved the owner from four bears at the cost of his health.
Earlier, on April 11, it was reported that a hazel dormouse had emerged from hibernation in the forests of Moscow. This was reported by biologists of the Moscow Department of Nature Management and Environmental Protection. The red-haired animal leaves its burrow in April and returns to its usual life, which is hidden from prying eyes. This rare species is listed in the Red Book of Moscow.
