Rubio informed Rutte about the peace plan for the Ukrainian settlement

During a telephone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed him about US proposals to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on April 18 on the website of the US Department of State.
"Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte today to inform him about the peace proposal presented yesterday to the Ukrainian delegation in Paris and Russian officials by telephone," the statement said.
It is noted that Rubio expressed to Rutte the hope of the administration of President Donald Trump that this proposal will be accepted and will lead to lasting peace in Ukraine. In addition, the US Secretary of State clarified that if there is no progress on this issue, the United States will abandon efforts to mediate peace between the countries.
The day before in Paris, the US delegation held a meeting with representatives of the Kiev regime and European countries on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Following the meeting, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the countries would "redouble their efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine." At the same time, Rubio noted that EU countries should be involved in the settlement so that the lifting of European sanctions could become part of the agreement.
In addition, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and the US Secretary of State had a telephone conversation on April 17 and discussed the Ukrainian conflict.
