The Kyrgyz authorities plan to complete the demarcation of the border with Tajikistan by the end of the year. This was announced on April 18 by the head of the Kyrgyz State Committee for National Security (GKNB) Kamchybek Tashiev at a meeting with residents of the Batken region of the republic.

"Tashiev said that the president instructed him to complete the installation of wire fences by the end of the year," Sputnik Kyrgyzstan quoted him as saying on its Telegram channel.

In addition, he added that he is ready to move to Batken region to control the pace of work.

Earlier, on March 31, Tajik President Emomali Rahmon announced a new stage in relations with Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan. According to him, the border agreement signed by the heads of Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev is of historical importance and indicates the firm commitment of the parties to peaceful methods of resolving contradictions.
