In March 2025, Russians began to buy larger diameter tires more often. Compared to the first month of last year, the number of tire repairs with wheels with a diameter of 19 inches has more than doubled (by 159%), with 18—inch wheels by 140% and 22-inch wheels by 100%. This was told by analysts of the Moneypalce service (part of the Kontur business ecosystem), having studied the dynamics of sales on Ozon, the international network of Fit Service car services and the Honest Sign system. The study is at the disposal of Izvestia.

"Car owners' preferences have changed over the past year not only in tire brands, but also in the size of the rubber. In March, twice as many tire repairs for crossovers and minivans were carried out at the car services of our network (+95%). However, the largest share of the Russian fleet still belongs to passenger cars, and work on them is carried out more often," said Nikita Rodionov, Technical Director of Fit Service.

Russians spent more than 242 million rubles on updating tires in a month. Anastasia Romanova, an analyst at Moneyplace, noted that Ozon's revenue in the summer tire and disc category increased 1.5 times in March compared to February. Among the most popular brands are Cordiant (more than 2 thousand sets of summer tires of this brand were sold on the platform in a month), Sailun, Viatti, Pirelli, Centara and KAMA.

According to the Honest Sign system, imports totaled 9 million tires in the first quarter of this year. This is 8% less than in the same period last year. At the same time, imports account for 46% of the total supply in the country. Summer tires account for the largest volume of imports, accounting for 92% of the total supply. Supplies of all-season tires decreased by 10% (to 201 thousand units), while they account for 3% of all imported products, experts said.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that in March 2025, compared with February, Russians' spending on auto goods increased by an average of 42%. Analysts noted an increase in demand for tires, auto parts, oils and other auto chemicals, as well as for car audio systems.

On April 16, it became known that for the year from March 2024 to March 2025, the average price of premium summer tires for passenger cars increased by 3.6%, while winter tires increased by 8.9%.
