Russians' spending on auto goods increased by 42% in March%

In March 2025, compared with February, Russians' spending on auto goods increased by an average of 42%, analysts at Moneypalce (part of the Kontur business ecosystem) found after studying sales dynamics on Ozon. The study is at the disposal of Izvestia.

Analysts noted an increase in demand for tires, auto parts, oils and other auto chemicals, as well as for car audio systems. The largest sales growth in March was observed in the following product categories: body protection (262%), tire balancing weights (152%), and wheels (183%).

"Russians spent 331 million rubles on car care products in March, of which 78 million rubles were spent on cleaning products (59% more than in February). Another 61 million rubles were spent on paints and primers, 53 million rubles on brushes and napkins, 41 million rubles on waxes and polishes, and 17 million rubles on high—pressure washers," the study says.

Of the auto chemicals, the largest increase was in antikor products (60% more than in February). In terms of costs, engine oils are among the leaders: 805 million rubles in March, which is 42% more than in the same period of 2024. It took 262 million rubles to purchase stabilizer bars and other suspension parts, 242 million rubles for brake discs and amplifiers, which is 30% more than the cost of car owners in March 2024.

The number of car radio purchases increased by 52% in March compared to February and by 264% compared to 2024 (a total of 429 million rubles), while car alarm sales (94 million rubles) increased by 27% in March (compared to February) and by 99% compared to March 2024. 306 million rubles were spent on tuning and exterior decoration, 141 million rubles on car body protection.

On April 17, it was reported that by the end of March 2025, the Lada 2107 sedan became the most popular model among used passenger cars in Russia. In early spring, Russians bought 11.8 thousand Vaz sevens.

In March 2025, Russians purchased 448.3 thousand used passenger cars. This is 12.9% more than a month earlier, but 10.7% less than the result of March last year.
