More than 300 people suffered from tick bites in Irkutsk region

Over the past week, 335 people have suffered from tick bites in the Irkutsk region. Some of the pests suffered from borreliosis and encephalitis.

According to the IrkutskMedia news agency, 469 people have been injured since the beginning of the season. This is twice as much as in the same period of 2024. Bites are recorded in most territories of the Angara region.

The laboratory received 320 ticks for research. 81 pests had tick—borne borreliosis, two had encephalitis. Pathogens of other infections have been identified in another 21 pests.

Last weekend, 122 residents of the Krasnoyarsk Territory suffered from tick bites. Local residents were advised to follow preventive measures.
