Russia has introduced a new emergency rescue vehicle (ASA) based on the UAZ Profi for emergency departments. The line of special-purpose vehicles has been expanded by Ruscomtrans, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant told Izvestia on April 21. The first batch of cars has already been delivered to customers.

The new version of the van on the UAZ Profi four-wheel drive chassis is designed to deliver rescue teams and ensure their rapid response in emergency situations. The passenger cabin, separated by a partition, is designed for five people, including the driver.

The frame van is made of fiberglass, it is equipped with two rear doors (an upper lifting door on gas stops and a lower swing door) for quick access to tools. The interior of the body is equipped with racks for fixing inventory and is lined with corrugated aluminum to protect against damage during loading and unloading. The upper part has fasteners for a three-pronged ladder with a length of 1950 mm.

The list of special equipment includes a hydraulic pumping station, an electric perforator, a gasoline cutter, a chainsaw, an electric drill, a portable gasoline or diesel power plant (4.5 kW), and a rechargeable angle grinder. A rescue board from the polynya, a wetsuit for working on water in the cold season, climbing equipment, various tools (trench, locksmith, for cutting electrical wires), sanitary bags with stowage for first aid, and more are provided.

The company noted that after a number of changes, a van based on the UAZ Profi can also serve as a mobile vehicle for transport and weight control, patrol or canine services.

On April 17, it was reported that the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant announced the modernization of the rear-view camera for the Patriot and Pickup models. The new device complements the advanced UAZ Navi multimedia system. The improvements did not affect the cost of models with the Limited package.

On April 14, it was reported that, as Nikolai Sobolev, CEO of the Sollers Group, stated, by the end of 2025, the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant plans to introduce updated UAZ Patriot and Pickup trucks with Russian units: diesel engine, gearbox and transfer case.
