- The FSB in the LPR showed a video of the delivery of an AFU mercenary from Australia from the front line

An Australian citizen will stand trial for participating in hostilities on the territory of the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) against the Armed Forces of Russia. On April 18, the press service of the regional directorate of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of the Russian Federation showed footage of the mercenary's transportation from the front line.
"An Australian citizen, on his own initiative, arrived on the territory of Ukraine to participate as a mercenary in an armed conflict in order to receive financial rewards," the department said.
According to the investigation, the man signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine to serve in the 66th separate mechanized brigade. After military training, he participated in combat operations on the territory of the LPR and the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) against Russian military personnel.
A criminal case was opened against the mercenary under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict or military operations").
On April 10, the Russian Prosecutor General's Office announced that the Supreme Court of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) had sentenced Brazilian citizen Nicholas Cha to seven years in prison in absentia for participating in hostilities on the side of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. He was found guilty under Part 3 of Article 359 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Participation of a mercenary in an armed conflict").
