The Ministry of Justice has added blogger Shpak and director Shiryaev to the register of foreign agents.

The Russian Ministry of Justice has granted blogger Alexander Shpak and director Vyacheslav Shiryaev the status of foreign agents. The agency announced this on April 18.

"On April 18, 2025, in accordance with the orders of the Russian Ministry of Justice, I.A. Babloyan, M.V. Chistyakova, V.E. Shiryaev, and A.K. Shpak were included in the register of foreign agents," the Ministry said in a statement on its website.

According to the Ministry of Justice, Shpak and Shiryaev disseminated false information about the decisions taken by the Russian authorities and their policies, as well as reported incorrect information about the actions of the Russian Armed Forces and opposed the special operation in Ukraine.

In addition, the blogger and the director participated in the creation and distribution of materials from other foreign agencies. Both currently live outside of Russia.

Earlier, on April 11, former Russian Foreign Minister Andrei Kozyrev, literary critic Nikolai Epple, Ukrainian journalist Daria Schastaya and the social and political movement Udmurtia against Corruption were added to the register of foreign agents. According to the agency, Kozyrev, Apple and Happy opposed the special military operation and now live abroad.
