AvtoVAZ has revealed the details of the equipment of the new Lada Iskra model

AvtoVAZ launched the production of the Lada Iskra model at the Tolyatti plant and shared the details of the equipment of the novelty. It will enter the market in three bodies: sedan, station wagon and Cross-wagon with black unpainted plastic elements on the body, the Izvestia correspondent reports on April 19.

Lada Iskra is based on a modern global platform, AvtoVAZ announced that it had been reengineered and made technologically independent (more than 1,000 new components). The exterior of the model represents a new interpretation of the brand's signature X-design, inspired by the Lada XCode concept car, which debuted in 2016.

In the cabin, horizontal molding and diamond-shaped air ducts are installed on the front panel. In the central tunnel there are two cup holders that follow the shape of the air ducts (suitable for bottles with a volume of 0.5 liters, among other things). There is a niche for a phone between them. The rear row cup holder allows you to vertically mount your smartphone while charging.

For the first time, Lada has implemented unlocking the fuel tank hatch from the passenger compartment with a lever to the left of the driver's seat. A low-level washer fluid sensor is also implemented. The steering wheel is adjustable in height and tilt angle. Depending on the configuration, the seat upholstery has a black-gray or contrasting color. The company noted that materials with increased wear resistance are used in the lining of the instrument panel and door cards.

The Iskra with a station wagon body uses a double-sided folding trunk mat that covers the seat backs during interior transformation, protecting them from contamination. There are also hooks in the trunks for attaching the mesh and a compartment for a five-liter container. A folding shelf is provided in the trunk of the station wagon. There is also an organizer in the spare wheel niche. Athermal glazing with 25% tinting is used (in the top versions, the rear hemisphere has a deeper tinting).

Lada Iskra will be offered with a 1.6-liter engine with a capacity of 90 hp (143 Nm) or 106 hp (148 Nm). In the first case, the motor is combined with a five-speed manual. A more powerful engine is aggregated by six-speed mechanics or "automatic".

The length of the sedan and station wagon is 4333 mm (65 mm longer than the Granta sedan and 107 mm shorter than the Vesta sedan). The Iskra Cross wagon is 4342 mm (194 mm larger than the Granta Cross and 103 mm smaller than the Vesta SW Cross). The ground clearance of the sedan and station wagon is 170 mm, and that of the Cross-wagon is 200 mm— Buyers of the first two will have a choice between two engines, but the elevated station wagon will be offered only with a 106-horsepower unit.

All configurations are equipped with at least two front airbags, front belts with pre-tensioners and force limiters, the ERA-GLONASS system, the directional stability control (ESC) system and the lifting assist function.

The company stated that Iskra's localization level exceeds 90%. The model partially uses the technical solutions used on Vesta.
