The Houthis announced the first attack on the US aircraft carrier Carl Vinson

The Houthis in Yemen carried out two attacks — on a military target near Ben Gurion Airport and on the American aircraft carriers Harry Truman and Carl Vinson and their associated warships in the Red and Arabian Seas. This was announced on April 18 by the political bureau of the Ansar Allah movement.
The representative of the armed forces, Brigadier General Yahya Saria, in his statement indicated that the missile forces conducted an operation to hit a target near the air harbor in the Jaffa region using a Zulfikar ballistic missile.
"Missile forces, unmanned aerial vehicles and naval forces conducted a double military operation to attack the American aircraft carriers Harry Truman and Carl Vinson, as well as their warships in the Red and Arabian Seas," the movement said in a statement on its website.
It is noted that this is the first attack on the Vinson aircraft carrier since its arrival in the Arabian Sea.
The destruction of the Houthi-controlled Ras Isa seaport by the American army was reported the day before, on April 17. The Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) reported that the port was used for the maritime supply of oil, which the Houthi movement used "as a tool of control and to obtain economic benefits from the appropriation of profits from imports."
According to the Ministry of Health of the government of the Ansar Allah movement, at least 74 people were killed as a result of strikes on an oil port, 171 people were also injured.
On April 9, Anadolu Agency reported the deaths of more than 100 civilians since the beginning of the US attacks on Yemen. It was clarified that at least 223 people were injured. On March 15, US President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered the military to begin operations against the Houthis. Soon, the Central Command of the US Armed Forces announced the launch of a large-scale operation in Yemen.
