U.S. representatives have proposed to the allied European countries a plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine, which includes easing anti-Russian sanctions. This was reported by Bloomberg on April 18, citing sources.

"The United States has presented proposals to its allies on concluding a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, including a list of conditions for the cessation of hostilities and easing sanctions against Moscow in the event of a prolonged ceasefire," the material says.

It is noted that the American side presented the relevant plan on Thursday, April 17, at a meeting in Paris attended by representatives of the United Kingdom, the United States, Ukraine and France.

The agency writes that this proposal will "freeze" the conflict while keeping the territories occupied by Russia under its control. In addition, Ukraine's aspirations to join NATO will be "removed from the agenda."

At the same time, sources specify that the potential peace agreement will not be final. There have been no official comments on this topic yet.

The day before in Paris, the US delegation held a meeting with representatives of the Kiev regime and European countries on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. Following their results, French President Emmanuel Macron said that the countries would "redouble their efforts to achieve peace in Ukraine."

Later, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio noted that EU countries should be involved in the settlement so that the lifting of European sanctions could become part of the agreement.
