The regions of the Russian Federation with the largest number of accidents are named


Krasnodar Region topped the rating in terms of the number of road accidents in the first quarter of 2025. This was reported on April 18 by RIA Novosti with reference to a study by the insurance company VSK, which examined the statistics of CTP appeals.
The Krasnodar Territory accounted for 5.4% of road accidents. Moscow came in second place with a share of 5.2%. Next in the ranking are the Moscow and Novosibirsk regions, as well as the Republic of Bashkortostan. The overall accident rate on Russian roads in the first quarter decreased by 49% compared to the same period last year, analysts said.
Most often, the owners of VAZ, Toyota, Hyundai, GAZ, Kia and Renault cars became participants in the accident. Men were responsible for 83% of accidents. At the same time, last year, in the first three months, women initiated road accidents in 13% of cases.
It is also noted that in 2025, the share of accidents caused by representatives of corporate fleets (taxis, carsharing, delivery services, and others) increased from 18% to 20% per year. Drivers aged 30-40 were named the most "dangerous" age group on the roads (29% of CTP accidents), while young motorists were the most careful (15%).
On April 9, it was reported that in the first three months of 2025, 24 thousand road accidents occurred in Russia, which is 1.9% more than in the same period last year. As a result of these accidents, 2.6 thousand people died (-0.8%), 30.6 thousand were injured (+1.4%).
