Russians began to spend more money on gold products with diamonds

In 2024, Russians increased spending on gold products with diamonds by 25% compared to 2023. This follows from the data of the jewelry company "Alcor", which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 18.
"By the end of 2024, the Russian jewelry market with natural diamonds has demonstrated positive dynamics. According to statistics, the total expenditure of the population on these goods has reached 106 billion rubles, which is 25% higher than in 2023," said Mikhail Veselov, head of the Alcor analytics department.
At the same time, the average cost of a typical gold diamond ring increased by 23-28%. Experts noted that this is directly related to the rise in metal prices on the global market. Russians purchase such products for themselves, as a gift, or for the purpose of long-term investments.
Analysts also talked about the trend towards buying more budget jewelry. Thus, the annual sales volume of silver and diamond products in 2024 amounted to 2 billion rubles. The increased demand for such collections allows jewelry companies to maintain sales, offsetting the reduced availability of gold products.
Earlier, on March 19, Irina Shamilova, a gemologist and owner of the EIRINE jewelry house, told Izvestia that diamonds require regular care. Over time, they may fade, lose their luster, or become covered with a layer of dirt. The most affordable way is to clean with a degreasing agent, such as dishwashing liquid.
