The American administration may conclude trade agreements with most countries of the world, including European and Asian states. Igor Yushkov, a leading analyst at the National Energy Security Fund, told Izvestia on April 18.

CNN reported yesterday that the United States will conclude trade deals with all countries, including China, over the next three to four weeks, Donald Trump said.

"Right now, all of President Donald Trump's statements are primarily aimed at stabilizing financial markets. Supporting the stock price of American companies is critically important, as it directly reflects the level of trust in the administration within the country," Yushkov explained.

According to him, tough trade measures have a negative impact on American business, which leads to a decrease in Trump's support from business circles.

"The population is also starting to worry — many citizens have invested their retirement savings in securities. The market decline is causing discontent, which is directed against the current administration," the expert explained.

He suggested that Washington may reconsider its position on trade duties in the near future, especially with regard to East Asian countries.

"Initially, the decision to impose high duties on traditional partners — Japan, South Korea, Vietnam and India — looked illogical, because these countries were seen as allies in countering China. Now, it is likely that these measures will be rolled back and new agreements will be signed in order to restore the former allied relations," the expert said.

The analyst did not rule out that the United States would try to form a new trade and political bloc aimed at curbing China's economic influence.

"Similar strategies have already been used by the American side in the past, and now they may be revived in an updated format," Yushkov summed up.

On April 17, the Financial Times (FT) newspaper reported that China is seeking economic rapprochement with the European Union (EU) amid a trade war with the United States. According to the newspaper, China sent trade delegations to European capitals. In addition, Chinese factories are already exploring the possibility of redirecting products to the continent's markets.

Prior to that, on April 9, US President Donald Trump announced the suspension of duties imposed on a number of countries for 90 days. The head of state also announced an immediate increase in duties on products from China to 125%. On April 10, this figure reached 145%.
