Muscovites will share their traditions of celebrating Victory Day

As part of the Active Citizen project, Muscovites were invited to talk about how they spend May 9th, as well as share information about the military and labor exploits of their ancestors. The corresponding vote on the platform is timed to coincide with the upcoming 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.
"The townspeople will share their family traditions related to Victory Day. Many people watch the parade broadcast together, go to exhibitions, participate in festive and patriotic programs," Natalia Sergunina noted.
Other possible answers include watching war films and laying flowers at memorials. At the same time, the survey participants can offer their own options. For example, it can be trips to hero cities, visits to historical reenactments or participation in excursions to the sights of Moscow.
A link to the poster of all city events dedicated to May 9, including film screenings, expositions and concerts, will also be posted on the voting page. The news section will feature stories about people who survived the war and materials about the work of the subway in the 1940s.
The Active Citizen portal has been operating since 2014. The number of its users exceeds seven million people.
Every month, the city implements several dozen decisions of Muscovites made using this project.
