Memorial plaque in memory of the deceased military commander of Izvestia Yeremin was unveiled in NCFU

A memorial plaque in memory of Izvestia military correspondent Semyon Yeremin, who died in the special operation zone, was unveiled on the building of the Faculty of Philology of the North Caucasus Federal University (NCFU) in Stavropol.

Eremin graduated from the university in two fields — journalism and law. Subsequently, he worked in the leading federal media.

Eremin's family, teachers, colleagues and students attended the opening ceremony of the board. A minute of silence was observed in memory of the military commander.

The granite plaque depicts a portrait of a military commander, as well as words about courage and a reminder of his feat. The plaque also says that Yeremin was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage.

On April 19, 2024, Semyon Eremin died while filming a report in a special operation zone during an FPV drone attack. After the second drop from the drone, the journalist was injured, and he later died. The military commander was 42 years old.
