A criminal case has been opened against a resident of Simferopol for calls to eradicate the Russian language and eliminate Russian citizens, and she faces five years in prison. This was announced on April 18 by the press service of the FSB Directorate for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
It turned out that in a Ukrainian chat, a woman called for the eradication of the Russian language and people.
"According to the examination, the text recordings of the citizen contain linguistic signs of incitement in the form of a call to commit violent acts against a group of persons identified by nationality (Russians)," TASS quoted the agency as saying.
A criminal case has been opened against the woman under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for extremist activities committed using the Internet"). The article provides for imprisonment for up to five years.
On April 10, the Office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) of Russia in the Smolensk region brought a native of Ukraine to criminal responsibility for public calls to carry out extremist activities. It was clarified that the man held nationalist views and called for violent acts against the Russian and Belarusian military. He was found guilty and sentenced to two years of imprisonment in a general regime colony.
