Sobyanin spoke about the development of the Moscow transplant service

Moscow is actively developing one of the most complex high—tech areas of medicine - organ transplantation. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin spoke about the development of the capital's transplantation in his Telegram channel.
According to the mayor of Moscow, the number of organ transplant operations in Moscow hospitals has increased by 73 percent in five years: from 427 to 739 cases per year. And the waiting time for transplantation for Moscow patients is 3-5 times shorter than the average in the world.
The newly established Moscow Coordination Center for Organ Donation has become one of the important elements of the capital's transplantation. This center operates on the basis of the Moscow Multidisciplinary Scientific and Clinical Center named after S. P. Botkin and cooperates with more than 20 medical organizations in the capital. Thanks to the inclusion of all medical institutions of the city in the digital contour of the unified medical information and analytical system, the center's specialists promptly receive information that helps them keep records of patients in need and objectively assess the condition of donor organs.
The capital's transplant specialists use state-of-the-art equipment and innovative treatment techniques, allowing them to perform rare and unique operations. "As examples, I will cite several achievements of our transplant centers that help save lives. The Sklifosovsky Institute has developed a new method of pancreas transplantation. Transplantation of this organ is often necessary for patients with severe type 1 diabetes," said the mayor of Moscow.
