The Kremlin noted the difficulty in contacts with the United States on the settlement in Ukraine

Russia and the United States are having rather difficult contacts on the issue of resolving the conflict in Ukraine, as this is not an easy topic. This was announced on April 18 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"Contacts are quite complicated, because, of course, the topic [of the Ukrainian settlement] is not an easy one. Russia is committed to resolving this conflict to ensure its own interests and is open to dialogue. We are continuing this dialogue," he said at a briefing.

Commenting on the statement by US Secretary of State Marco Rubio about Washington's possible withdrawal from the settlement in the absence of progress, Peskov noted that Moscow could state "some progress" on the issue. He stressed that progress is related to the moratorium on attacks on energy facilities.

According to the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, the parties expect many difficult discussions in the future.
