The head of the Research Institute of the Ministry of Defense Protasov has been charged in the case of a bribe.

Andrei Protasov, the head of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "27 Central Research Institute" of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, has been charged with accepting bribes. This was reported on April 18 in the press service of the military investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee (IC) of the Russian Federation.

According to the investigation, in the period from 2014 to 2024, the institute executed multimillion-dollar contracts for the development and implementation of modern technologies. Protasov oversaw the creation of an initiative scientific group, whose members were awarded incentive payments.

"In the period 2020-2025, Protasov received large and especially large bribes from the institute's staff for their inclusion in the scientific group to receive incentive payments, as well as general patronage in the service," the department's Telegram channel clarified.

He was charged with accepting large and especially large bribes (paragraphs "b" of part 5 of art. 290 and Part 6 of art. 290 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

On April 4, the Savelovsky District Court of Moscow placed Protasov under house arrest. It is specified that the accused was placed under house arrest for a period of one month.
