An official of the Ministry of Defense was detained in Ukraine for assisting 50 draft dodgers.

An employee of the Ministry of Defense has been detained in Ukraine, who developed a scheme to evade mobilization for remuneration, which was used by about 50 conscripted citizens. As reported on April 18 by the Prosecutor General's Office of the country, a criminal case has been opened against the employee for obtaining illegal benefits (Part 3 of Article 368 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

It was established that the suspect used money to arrange people who applied to him for civilian positions in military departments. After that, they received certificates of reservation for the period until the end of mobilization.

"The cost of the "services" ranged from $8 to $10,000. The officer received the money in cash, on bank cards or in cryptocurrency...> The official was detained while receiving a bribe of $8,000," the department's Telegram channel says.

During searches at the place of residence of the suspect, officials of the territorial recruitment center (TCC, an analogue of military enlistment offices) and fictitiously employed citizens, law enforcement officers seized documents on reservations, correspondence and other evidence of illegal activities of the person involved.

April 16 edition of "Country.ua" reported that in Lutsk, Ukraine, the staff of the shopping mall mobilized a man at the gates of the school, where he was escorting his child. In a video on the media's Telegram channel, several people in camouflage are forcibly trying to stuff a man into a minibus, and people pass by are filming what is happening and trying to help him.

The Dumskaya newspaper reported on April 5 how a man with a hunting rifle tried to free his son from a shopping mall in Odessa. It is unknown whether the man managed to secure his son's release. On the fact of the incident, two administrative protocols were drawn up against the resident of Odessa — for minor hooliganism and violation of the rules of carrying weapons.
