In Kostroma, a truck driver with a semi-trailer at a controlled intersection, when turning left at a traffic light, did not provide an advantage in traffic and collided with an intercity bus moving towards him, which was carrying 24 passengers. Temporary closures or traffic restrictions are continuing in some regions of the country due to adverse weather or a difficult flood situation. Thus, in the Republic of North Ossetia — Alania, due to the deterioration of weather conditions in the adjacent territory, since the evening of April 17, there has been a temporary suspension of traffic on the federal highway A-161 Vladikavkaz — Nizhny Lars — border with the Republic of Georgia in the direction of departure from the Russian Federation.

Since the morning of April 14, traffic on 144 km of the Nevelsk-Tomari—Shakhtersk Airport highway has been temporarily suspended in the Sakhalin Region due to the erosion of meltwater and the collapse of part of the roadway.

In the Altai Territory, traffic on one of the regional highways was temporarily stopped due to flooding of the roadway by flood waters. In the Kurgan region, traffic on two regional highways was stopped for the same reason. In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, due to flooding of the roadway, the movement of trucks and buses is limited on five highways of regional importance.

In addition, yesterday morning in Murmansk, on the 19 km of the regional highway "Entrance to Severomorsk from the FAD R-21 "Cola", a truck driver with a semi-trailer drove into the oncoming lane of the road in a prohibited place, where he alternately collided with two passenger cars, each of which was driven by a female driver. One of the motorists was hospitalized with injuries, the second was sent for outpatient treatment after receiving medical attention. Due to an accident, traffic on this section of the road was temporarily stopped from morning until late at night and was bypassed. on a detour organized by the staff of the State Traffic Inspectorate.

On the eve of the weekend, the State Traffic Inspectorate draws the attention of drivers to the need for strict compliance with traffic regulations during the off-season. An increase in air temperature, as well as its differences between daytime and nighttime values, increase the risk of accidents on the roads due to possible ice, precipitation in the form of rain or sleet, as well as visibility restrictions caused by them. Motorists should be more careful, avoid dangerous maneuvers, slow down, and increase the interval and distance between vehicles, the department noted.

"In addition, driver discipline is especially necessary if there are child passengers in your car, who should be transported in compliance with all applicable safety requirements. When planning long-distance trips in regions with unstable flood conditions or poor weather conditions, we recommend that you monitor the weather forecast and media information from traffic closures or restrictions. In case of a negative forecast, we advise you to refrain from using personal vehicles for long trips for a while or to plan routes in advance for yourself to safely bypass problem areas," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, told Izvestia.
