The details of the organization of labor became known in the work of one of the largest retail chains "Magnolia". The problem lies not only in the complete lack of sanitation, but also in the careless attitude towards employees.

Employees of retail outlets live in dormitories with extremely unsatisfactory conditions: bunk beds are located very close to each other and covered with towels, and insects can be found on dirty mattresses.

"Now let's kill (the insects. — Ed.), we close the rooms, no one comes out until the evening. They bring animals from work, and where else can they bring them from," the commandant said.

One of the employees of Magnolia shared that he got a job as a cashier, but after spending the night in the hostel, he began to itch violently. He was diagnosed with allergic dermatitis.

"I came to the store itself to talk with the director and they told me: well, since you don't like our dorm, we didn't have time to register you in principle, you won't work here either," Nikolai said.

Alexey Menshikov, a technologist and sanitizer at the sanitary service, noted that bed bugs are highly likely to be found in the dormitory. According to him, in 95% of cases such places of residence have serious violations.

It is noted that on the Magnolia website, potential employees are promised free accommodation, but the details of the conditions are not disclosed. Izvestia correspondent Kirill Olkov visited five dormitories, finding systemic violations in them: most of them are located in residential buildings and have separate entrances accessible only to employees. In one of the hostels, there is only one shower on the floor, and the rooms are crowded — up to 15 people.

According to sanitary standards, each employee should have at least 6 square meters, but violations by Magnolia lead to unsanitary conditions and the spread of diseases. Svetlana Razvorotneva, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Construction, noted the inadmissibility of using premises not intended for residential use.

There are also obvious problems with fire safety: there are no escape routes, although there is a fire extinguisher. Izvestia appealed to Rospotrebnadzor and the Moscow prosecutor's office with a request to check the living conditions in the hostels, but representatives of the chain of stores did not respond.

On February 6, it was reported that the Rosselkhoznadzor had revealed gross violations in the stores of the Svetofor chain when selling livestock products. In particular, violations were found in the sale of dairy, meat and fish products. Among the main violations, the Rosselkhoznadzor revealed the absence of shipping documents and full labeling, some of the goods were expired. In addition, violations of packaging, storage temperatures and signs of defrosting were recorded.

On February 17, the Butyrsky District Court of Moscow suspended the activities of two Svetofor stores in the Northeastern Administrative District for 60 days.
