- The preliminary cause of the fire at the market in Genichesk was called a short circuit.

The cause of the fire at the central market in Genichesk, Kherson region, could have been a short circuit in one of the kiosks. This was announced on April 18 by Oleg Bobylev, a specialist in the information and public relations department of the press service of the Main Directorate (GU) of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations in the Kherson region.
"The preliminary cause of the fire is a short circuit in one of the kiosks," he said in a conversation with TASS.
According to him, the fire could not have been caused without the help of specialists due to the high saturation of goods in kiosks and the lack of hydrants. In addition, as Bobylev noted, difficulties arose due to wind currents that spread the fire to other kiosks.
He clarified that more than 20 specialists from the Russian Emergencies Ministry and over 10 pieces of equipment were sent to the scene.
The fire in the Kherson region was reported this morning by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations. The regional Ministry of Health added that six people were injured as a result of the fire, two of whom required hospitalization.
