South Korea conducted large-scale night exercises on the border with the DPRK

The Army of the Republic of Korea conducted large-scale night exercises and shooting near the maritime border with the DPRK. This was reported on April 18 by Yonhap.
"About 40 pieces of key equipment were involved in the exercises, including the K9A1 self—propelled howitzer, the Chunmoo multiple launch rocket system, and surveillance equipment such as a counter-battery radar and an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)," the agency said.
The exercises were conducted about 160 kilometers northeast of Seoul in coastal Koson County. In total, about 300 military personnel took part in them.
"During the exercises, the troops detected a provocation by a simulated enemy using radar and returned fire. They then confirmed the result with the help of a UAV and opened fire again, demonstrating lightning firepower," Yonhap reports.
On April 17, the Air Forces of South Korea and the United States began joint exercises Freedom Flag. More than 1,000 troops and about 90 aircraft were mobilized from both sides.
On January 15, Yonhap news agency reported that the United States, South Korea and Japan were conducting joint air exercises near the Korean Peninsula in response to Pyongyang's launch of short-range ballistic missiles towards the Sea of Japan. It was clarified that at least one American B-1B Lancer strategic bomber, South Korean F-15K fighters and Japanese Mitsubishi F-2 fighters took part in the exercises.
