The American army has destroyed the Ras Isa seaport, controlled by the radical Yemeni Ansar Allah movement (Houthis). This was announced on April 17 by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces (CENTCOM) on the social network X (ex. Twitter).

"The purpose of these strikes was to weaken the economic source of power of the Houthis, who continue to exploit and inflict great pain on their compatriots. This strike was not aimed at harming the people of Yemen, who rightly want to throw off the yoke of the Houthis and live peacefully," the statement said.

According to the agency, this port was used for the maritime supply of oil, which the Houthi movement used "as a tool of control and to obtain economic benefits from the appropriation of profits from imports."

"The profits from these illegal sales directly finance and support the terrorist efforts of the Houthis," CENTCOM said.

On April 17, the US armed forces launched massive strikes on areas controlled by the Ansar Allah movement in Yemen. It is specified that about 14 strikes fell on the Al‑Sabin area in the Yemeni capital Sanaa. The provinces of Saada and Al-Jawf were also hit by airstrikes. According to preliminary data, as a result of the US attack on a residential area of Sanaa, one person was killed.

On March 15, US President Donald Trump announced that he had ordered the military to begin operations against the Yemeni Houthis. Soon, the central command of the United States Armed Forces announced the launch of a large-scale operation in Yemen.
