US President Donald Trump would like to achieve an early end to the conflict in Ukraine. On April 17, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio informed Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov during a telephone conversation.
"The Secretary of State conveyed to his Russian counterpart the same message that the U.S. team conveyed to the Ukrainian delegation and our European allies in Paris: President Trump and the United States want this armed conflict to end, and have now presented to all parties the contours of a lasting and lasting peace," according to a press release on the State Department's website.
Rubio added that the "encouraging reception" of the American delegation in Paris showed the possibility of achieving peace if all parties commit to reach this agreement.

During the conversation, the Russian minister confirmed Moscow's readiness to continue working together with Washington to reliably eliminate the root causes of the crisis in Ukraine.
