Nebenzia called the possibility of a ceasefire in Ukraine unrealistic.

A ceasefire in Ukraine is currently not realistic. This was announced on April 17 by Russia's Permanent representative to the United Nations (UN). Vasily Nebenzya.
According to the diplomat, the conflict settlement process is complicated by Kiev's violation of agreements on mutual cessation of strikes on energy infrastructure.
"We had an attempt at a limited ceasefire regarding the energy infrastructure, which was not respected by the Ukrainian side," he told a journalist after closed UN consultations.
On March 27, Vasily Nebenzya declared Russia's unshakeable authority in the UN. He noted that the respect of the UN member states for the Russian Federation has only grown due to Moscow's firm and independent position in upholding its interests. Russia is perceived as the guardian of the foundations of the organization and the just defender of weak and oppressed peoples.
