"Such actions by Washington will lead to the disruption of global supply chains and the violation of market-oriented trade norms, harming not only other countries but also the US' own economic interests," the Chinese ambassador to Russia said in an article for Izvestia.

On April 2, US President Donald Trump announced the imposition of customs duties on products from 185 countries and territories. On Chinese goods, they later amounted to up to 145%. Such actions will not "make America great again," but will only turn the US into "barbarians of the 21st century," China's ambassador to Russia said.
