Russia and Egypt to adjust agreement on construction of Ed-Dabaa nuclear power plant

Russia and Egypt intend to adjust the agreement on the construction of Egypt's first nuclear power plant, Al-Dabaa, to add to it the responsibility of the Russian Federation for creating a system of physical protection of the plant. This was on Thursday, April 17, according to an order signed by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.
According to TASS, a clause was added to the article of the agreement describing the obligations of the Russian side: "Design, supply of equipment and materials and perform all construction, installation, commissioning and commissioning work necessary to create a physical protection system for a nuclear power plant."
Initially, this was an obligation of the Egyptian side. The Russian Federation will also train Egyptian personnel.
Earlier, on January 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Egyptian President el-Sisi had a telephone conversation. It is noted that the heads of state discussed the implementation of joint projects and the situation in the Middle East. In addition, economic issues and the Ukrainian crisis were discussed.
