Sweden must restore diplomatic channels and return to its historical role as a neutral and peace-loving country. This was stated to Izvestia by the founder of the United Sweden party, Bo Jonsson.

"The current Swedish government is deeply entangled in the structures of the EU and NATO and is unlikely to take independent steps towards dialogue. However, many citizens, including me, are firmly convinced that dialogue is the only way to peace and stability," he said.

Bo Jonsson believes that the sanctions imposed on Russia are counterproductive and Sweden should immediately distance itself from all forms of economic warfare and take steps to de-escalate tensions.

"The EU's subordination to US foreign policy increases our vulnerability. If trade conflicts escalate, Sweden could suffer significant losses, especially in the technology, manufacturing, and energy sectors. By restoring an independent trade policy outside the EU, Sweden could seek pragmatic partnerships with all countries, including Russia," the politician said.

He noted that Sweden should withdraw from both the EU and NATO in order to regain control over its foreign policy.

"Our path forward lies through sovereignty, diplomacy and peaceful coexistence, and not through the politics of blocs or foreign intrigues," the politician said.

On February 28, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the Russian military has been closely monitoring Sweden's activities since it became a member of NATO and is taking the necessary measures.
