South African Defense Minister Angelina Mocekga to attend Victory Day parade


South African Defense Minister Angelina Mocekga will attend the Victory Day Parade in Moscow to celebrate the 80th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War (WWII). This was announced on April 17 by South African Foreign Minister Ronald Lamola in an interview with RT.
"I won't be here, but our defense minister will be here to represent the South African government," he said.
According to Lamola, such an event is important not only for Russian citizens, but also for "the peoples of the whole world."
Earlier in the day, Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov said that the Kremlin had sent an invitation to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to celebrate the 80th anniversary of Victory in Moscow on May 9.
