The death toll from a fire at a nightclub in Kochani in Northern Macedonia has risen to 62. This was reported on April 17 by Anadolu Ajansı agency with reference to the country's Ministry of Health.

According to the ministry, 23-year-old Stojance Stefanov from Kochani, who was transferred to the Military Medical Academy in Belgrade for treatment of severe burns, died. During his hospitalization, his general condition was unstable, the Ministry of Health notes.

According to the newspaper, last week two victims who were treated in Lithuania also died from their injuries, bringing the total death toll to 61.

On March 16, the Government of North Macedonia declared seven days of mourning for those killed in a nightclub fire in the city of Kochani. It was noted that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country will open a book of condolences in connection with the tragedy.

A fire in a nightclub in Kochani occurred on the same day. According to preliminary data, the fire occurred due to the use of pyrotechnics.
