Almost half of residents of large cities in Russia save up to 100,000 rubles a month to buy an apartment. At the same time, more than a third of respondents noted that they accumulate more than 200,000 rubles every month for the purchase of housing, according to a study by Aeon Development, which was reviewed by Izvestia on April 18.

According to the study, almost half of Russians — 47% — save for housing on their own, while the other half receives help from parents or children or saves from the family budget.

Also, 43% of Russians plan to save up for a down payment or the missing amount to buy an apartment in less than 5 years. And another third of the respondents noted that they expect to save the required amount in less than 1 year.

Many residents of Moscow seek to move to more prestigious residential complexes and accumulate funds to purchase business-class housing. In the capital, there is an increase in the number of projects in this segment with attractive concepts and carefully thought-out content, which encourages potential buyers to move.

When asked about the selection criteria, the survey participants noted that transport accessibility is most important (30%), followed by proximity to the embankments (27%) and developed infrastructure (24%). At the same time, in Moscow, the majority of projects near the water are concentrated in the business and premium class segments.

"The level of residential complexes in Moscow has grown enormously over the past few years — this is due not only to high competition, but also to the city's approach to project coordination. The requirements for architecture, landscaping, internal and public infrastructure have increased," Marina Maltseva, Deputy General Director of Aeon Development, summed up.

Earlier, on January 9, Izvestia got acquainted with a study by the Aeroplane company, which reported on the mandatory amenities of Russians when buying an apartment. According to experts, in the new year Muscovites want to buy apartments with dressing rooms (23%), built-in closets (15%), additional outlets on the balcony (13%), a second bathroom (12%), a master bedroom (9%) and a niche for a washing machine (8%).
