Negotiations on a ceasefire between Russia and Ukraine cannot take place without Moscow's participation and the signing of relevant documents. This was stated by deputy Svetlana Zhurova on Thursday, April 17.

Earlier, on April 16, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said after a meeting with Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky that Ukraine had allegedly agreed to a complete ceasefire.

Stubb called on the Russian side to make the same decision. 360.ru .

According to Zhurova, the truce negotiations should be resolved between the Russian and Ukrainian sides or in the format of trilateral negotiations. Calls for a ceasefire are appropriate at the UN or in Brussels, but not in Finland. According to the parliamentarian, such statements may be an attempt at PR.

"There must be some documents that confirm the intention to cease fire so that everyone can understand the conditions. Without documents, these statements are worthless," the deputy said in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

On April 15, Zelensky submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a bill to extend martial law and mobilization in the country from May 9 for 90 days.

The deputies supported the relevant bills introduced by the Ukrainian leader, RT reports. 357 deputies supported the extension of martial law until August 6 of this year, and Alexey Goncharenko (listed as a terrorist and extremist in the Russian Federation) opposed it.
