A bomb from the Second World War was discovered in Cologne, Germany.


In Cologne, Germany, a 500-pound (about 227 kg) bomb was discovered during construction work in the Sylze municipal district. This was announced on April 17 on the website of the city administration.
"The aerial bomb must be defused today. To do this, the danger zone must be cordoned off and evacuated," the statement said.
It is noted that the evacuation will affect about 7,8 thousand people. They clarified that employees of the ammunition disposal service and the city administration are working on site.
At the end of March, it was reported that an unexploded aerial bomb had been found at a construction site in the center of the second largest Czech city of Brno. After that, law enforcement officers, together with firefighters, began evacuating the territory. 1.1 thousand people were evacuated from nearby buildings.
