- At a meeting in Paris, the United States will discuss ending the Ukrainian conflict with Europe

At the upcoming meeting of representatives of the United States, the European Union (EU) and Ukraine in Paris, the delegations will discuss the cessation of hostilities in the Ukrainian conflict. This was announced on April 17 by the representative of the US State Department, Tammy Bruce, live on the Fox News channel.
"He is now (US Secretary of State Marco Rubio. — Ed.) is in Paris together with European partners to urgently discuss the situation," she said.
The State Department spokeswoman added that the situation in Ukraine is "unacceptable" and has no military solution, so US President Donald Trump is "determined" to stop the conflict.
Bruce added that the Ukrainian side had expressed a desire to cease hostilities.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that the event in the French capital would be dedicated to the settlement of the Ukrainian conflict. He noted that the Russian side expects the United States to continue negotiations with representatives of Europe and Ukraine.
The day before, it was reported that Rubio and the special representative of the American president, Steven Witkoff, would arrive in Paris to discuss a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. It was clarified that in the French capital, US representatives will discuss with European officials ways to promote common interests in the region.
