The Supreme Court of Russia suspended the ban and excluded the Taliban movement from the list of terrorist organizations. This was announced on April 17 by a correspondent of Izvestia from the courtroom.

The General Prosecutor's Office took the initiative to change the legal status of the movement on March 31, sending a corresponding submission to the Supreme Court.
