- The Kremlin did not compare the day of the 80th anniversary of Victory with the Yalta Conference

As part of the celebrations on May 9, negotiations will be held with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin and foreign leaders, but it is not worth comparing them with the format of the Yalta Conference in 1945. This was announced on April 17 by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation.
"No, this forum will not be wearing elements of Yalta-1945, and this is not a forum. This is a celebration of the Victory anniversary. Indeed, there will be many guests. We will publish the full list of guests in a timely manner," he said at a briefing.
In addition, he said that the celebration on May 9 will be attended by heads of state and delegations, to whom Moscow will give the most cordial welcome. The Kremlin's official representative also stressed that meaningful negotiations would take place.
Earlier, on April 14, the EU's High Representative for Foreign Affairs, Kaya Kallas, said that if European officials visit Russia to participate in Victory Day events, they will face consequences.
Later, Peskov called her statement harsh and incorrect, and also noted that such threats should be assessed by those states to which they are addressed.
