The situation with forest fires in the Trans-Baikal Territory is close to the state of emergency (emergency) at the federal level.. This was announced on April 17 by the head of the Federal Forestry Agency Ivan Advisers during the All-Russian meeting "Forests of Russia" at the National Center "Russia".

According to him, the issue of introducing an emergency regime at the federal level is currently being discussed, and a decision will be made in the coming days.

"These are rather legal measures, in fact, we have already relocated all our forces there, but formally, according to the criteria, it already looks like a federal emergency," said Advisers, quoted by RIA Novosti.

The Governor of the Trans-Baikal Territory, Alexander Osipov, announced on April 7 that a regional emergency regime had been introduced in the region in connection with forest fires. According to him, almost all fires in Transbaikalia since the beginning of the year have been caused by humans.
