A girl fell into an open well near a former swimming pool in Samara.

A nine-year-old girl fell into an open manhole at a former swimming pool building in Samara. This was announced on April 17 by the prosecutor's office of the Samara region.

"On 04/14/2025, at about 20:50, a nine—year-old girl was walking near the old swimming pool building at 1 Facade Street, Kuibyshevsky district of Samara and, not noticing the absence of a hatch, fell into an open shaft of underground utilities," the department's Telegram channel says.

It is specified that the girl received medical assistance, hospitalization was not required.

"The course of the investigation of the criminal case initiated by the investigating authorities under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (performance of work or provision of services that do not meet safety requirements) has been taken under control," the prosecutor's office concluded.

Earlier, on February 9, a child fell into a well in the Industrial district of Khabarovsk. The minor died as a result of the fall. Law enforcement agencies have opened a criminal case on causing death by negligence.
