The temperature record was set in April in Sochi

A new temperature record was set in Sochi in April. The thermometers dropped to 0.8 degrees. The last time it was so cold was in April 2015.

Pavel Silkin, an employee of the International Scientific Center for Ecology and Climate Change at Sirius University, told TASS that over the past 10 years, the 11th is now considered the coldest day in April.

The specialist drew attention to a characteristic feature of the Sochi relief. It is noticeable during the frosty days of April: while the temperature in the area of the weather station remains near zero, in the foothills and mountains the indicators drop below zero.

KrasnodarMedia news agency notes that the situation was different at the beginning of spring: in the middle of March in Sochi, as well as throughout the south of Russia, it was very warm. But then a severe cold snap came to the region.

Earlier, Evgeny Tishkovets, a leading specialist at the Phobos weather center, said that Easter in Moscow will be one of the warmest days in the history of meteorological observations in the capital. The air temperature will rise to +25 degrees on April 20, which happens only once every 13-15 years.
