Residents of Transbaikalia were warned about strong winds

Weather conditions are forecast to worsen in Transbaikalia. On Friday, April 18, the wind may increase to 20 m/s. This is reported by the ChitaMedia news agency with reference to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region.
Residents of the region are asked to observe fire safety measures. It is not recommended to make bonfires, burn garbage and dry grass, as during strong winds the fire can spread quickly, which will lead to fires in residential buildings.
Earlier, on April 16, it was reported that a large forest fire had been extinguished in the Chita District of the Trans-Baikal Territory, which had been operating in the Mukhor-Kondui Paddy for a week. The area of the forest fire was 14 thousand hectares. The spread of the fire in the Mukhor-Kondui valley was significantly affected by the wind, which gusts reached 30 m/s.
Since April 7, a regional emergency regime has been in effect in connection with wildfires in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
