In Primorsky Krai, a shipment of live opilio shearing crab was found to exceed the permissible level of arsenic. This was established by experts of the branch of the institution subordinate to the Rosselkhoznadzor.

The sample was taken from a batch weighing almost 50 tons. The crab in the West Sakhalin subzone was mined by a company from Primorye. The product was examined for 24 indicators, including microbiological contamination, the content of toxic elements and radionuclides.

It turned out that the maximum permissible values of the mass fraction of arsenic in the batch were exceeded by more than 2 times — 11.66 mg / kg with a standard of no more than 5 mg / kg, writes IA PrimaMedia with reference to the agency.

Information about violations was entered into the automated veterinary system "Vesta" and sent to the central office of the Rosselkhoznadzor, the territorial departments of the department, and the relevant departments of the regions. An official letter with the results of the analysis was handed over to the owner of the batch.

Earlier it was reported that the share of counterfeit pesticides in Russia reaches 15-25%. According to the Anti-Counterfeit Association, 85% of fakes are imported from South and Southeast Asian countries. Counterfeit products often contain dangerous impurities (cadmium, arsenic, banned pesticides).
